Gen, curiosity is killing me. Care to elaborate on the incident?

Well.. this is what happen...*screams in a loud voice*

*screams some more* [emoji6]

I was battling to fall asleep so a bit of tossing and turning.. Bagheera was on our bed as he always is.. he heard a noise at the window..so did I but figured it was one of the other cats perhaps with a bird and trying to get back into the house with bird (windows are higher from the outside than inside).. then Bagheera got really upset and stood up.. gave a growl and headed off the bed. (The sound was him opening the window more and climbing up)

That was when I sat up in bed and saw that the figure in my window (he was on his haunches on the windowsil holding onto the wall and window frame head down no movement facing me) on the far end if the room was definitely not a cat..and then the screaming started... hubby jumped up very disorientated as he was sound asleep poor guy my screaming probably didn't help him much as I wasn't very specific with my screaming...as I was screaming they are coming in and there are 2..he was looking at me..all the while he was within touching distance of the intruder the window...then I screamed even louder...hubby came back towards the bed ..and that's when they fled.. I think they must have figured he was getting a gun.

Very scary I wasn't sure if someone had already gotten in so all we did was rush off to check the kids.. one son sound asleep, how I don't know and the other one armed with his hockey stick....

2 things I am so grateful for..1.. that it was a chilly evening and my son closed his bedroom windows..his room is next to ours facing the back wall where they came over. And 2.. that he didn't come out of his room to see what I was screaming at/about..

They just carried on after they didnt come right by us and robbed the people 3 doors down[emoji35]

Needless to say the next day 2ft of razor wire went up on our boundary wall where they came over, windows are now shut until the burglar bars go up...all the years not once did we have an incident..suppose this was the wake up call we had to have to secure our property at the back better..the front is very hard to get in....

And we have settled it, in situations like these.. I am neither fight or flight I am freeze and scream.[emoji58]

Gee Gen, scary experience. Glad to know every one is ok and your sons didn't notice too much. How old are they?

[emoji4]

He's all settled with his new family. They took him to the vet, he's about 10-12 weeks and should weigh around 2kg, but he's only 1.2kg. But he's very happy, follows them every where. The vet couldn't hear his heartbeat because he was purring so loudly, the cutie.

Gen, really glad that things turned out the way it it, considering the horror stories you hear of home invasions.

Bagheera is indeed the hero then, and deserves the extra treats.

Thx..yip.. the same old tune..it could've been much worse and we were lucky..shows you how these sort of things are the norm. It's already bad, they shouldn't be in my yard, let alone climbing through my window.[emoji35]

And to think a few weeks before I was alone on the Friday evening as the guys went fishing for a few days...argh I hate thinking like that and am now so bloody paranoid I can't even walk to my pool on my own..during the day[emoji35].. I know I don't need to be scared as it's more secure but like i said, my subconscious hasn't caught up to logic yet.

Yeah Bagheera is awesome..you should've seen him once it all calmed how he came back into the room and sniffed everywhere where the bastard touched..

Nina (tan) and Boela (black). She is now 18 months and he is 6 months. He is as tall as her, and has much bigger paws. And he is longer than her. And it is the Scottie (Rover) photobombing in the second photo. He has had his summer cut. The idiot in the background in the first one, is the in-laws' dog that is with us now. That thing is as dumb as they come....

I am glad Boela is starting to put on some muscle. Can't wait for him to get through his long-legged teen phase and become a proper dog...2d212ba44d5873fae034627212403c59.jpg5f551ee94850c4daea3d209e325a03bf.jpg

Hectic Gen.

There's merit to letting your animals sleep indoors / in your bedroom.

Well done brave Bagheera.

It still remains one of the best security measures.  Was a huge advantage when we moved to Germany as the dogs were already used to be in the house all night.

My boy Ozzy, also a lazy house dog. But very alert, I won’t want to get on the wrong end of him.

Especially when those jaws lock on to your arm/leg or even your throat.????. Must be one of the dogs I'm most afraid of other than Boerboel, Rottweilers and and and and.

The lock jaw story is nothing but bs. It’s actually a very placid breed. They scored better than Golden retrievers on the temperament scale. This one is a real baby and great with my kids.
