Well done Pieter1!, I am now on week 4. Stopped cold turkey one morning.

Only downside, I gained 7kg in 3 weeks :cursing:

AWESOME! I wouldn't mind gaining a bit to be rid of cigarettes. Keep it up!

I've stoped today. Feeling good, a little edgy but good.

good luck Pieter, it will be worth it.

when you feel like a smoke, just take a walk around the office, make coffee etc.

dont drink coffee drink water or orange juice.... keep a bottle of water with you and become friends with it every time you want to smoke drink from it, the more water you drink the more nicotine is flushed out your body.....the less your cravings. Apples are also a winner eat apples they give your hands something to do and replace the the hole hand mouth habit thing that you get with smoking..

Thanks guys! I've been watching Allen Carr's dvd. It makes sence. I'm on water and Green tea instead of coffee. At home it is going to be tough as my wife does not want to quit yet.

Haven't had a ciggie for over a 18 months, just went cold turkey.

Main reason for stopping was to improve my cycling, and it did, tenfold!

Forget the patches and gum, if you want it enough you'll stop!

She will.

When I quit my wife followed suit within a few weeks.

Good luck.

Glad to hear that. I'm also cold turkeying it this time. I can't use champix again as it made me moer of a depressed last time. I'm also doing it for my cycling, I hate almost geting a asthma attack at the end of tough climbs and coughing all the way back home.

I'm one happy camper. My whole family is now smokefree. Just recently my Mom, Oldest Sister and Younger Sister has quit smoking. This after both my Dad and Eldest Brother has passed away from smoking related ilnesses. Ouboet "stopped" smoking a week before his death, only because he did not have the breath to drag/inhale the cancer stick anymore. :cursing:

I myself, never smoked a single cigarette in my 48 years.

Kudos to you guys who stopped. Hope you all stay smokefree!!!

yeah, when i quit i substituted ciggies with jelly beans - 0% fat doesn't mean 0 calories.

I managed to quit even though my partner didn't - it does make it harder but it's doable. Good luck and vasbyt.

quite smoking last week Friday !

did a 6hr argus last year and i think about it all the time, but, that's not the true motivation for giving up, just hope i can hold up.

Cravings are there but in mild 'flashes'.

next argus i really wanna go B@lls to the wall !
