Morkel not likely to bowl in second innings. Rabada carrying an injury. We are going to win the series anyway. Keep the Ausies in the field as long as possible.

Philander is also strapped up carrying an injury

Nothing to lose by staying in the crease, except maybe a point or two on the Test rankings.

It's been a long season for the bowling unit.

So the simple equation is Aus need 612 runs to win, we need 10 wickets. Proteas in the pound seats.

Yes, but series wins are.

A first "home" series win for SA since 1970 - that's a freakin long time to wait.

I see the player union is jumping in to contest Smith and co's bans.

In what other job does an employee earning R17 000 000 a year get protection from a union after starting a corruption scandal causing the company to lose its biggest investors.

When they were doing well they wanted the lions share of the income because they were the game. Now suddenly they are just young boys who love cricket who cannot possibly take responsibility for the welfare of the sport.

Of course, we should forgive on a human level. But on a business level the sanctions seem about right to me.

Rant off.

the whole emotional show currently running feels like a ploy scripted by reputation manager. It's as if they are tuning into the public emotion the same way Cricket Australia did when it presumably formulated it's punishment of the perpetrators. Maybe if they tjank enough on TV and show how badly its been affecting their families, the same public can be used to bring pressure to bear on CA ito punishment mitigation.

This is exactly what Thor Buttox was saying earlier, about taking pity being seen as taking the moral high ground. they same way they abused the adoring cricketing public as stepping stone to crasser and crasser behaviour, they going to use tears and sobstories to get out of their self-made quagmire. I say let them be an example to the future of sport. Old boys clubs be damned.

Yip

What a messy drama with the aftermath

It was clearly a breach of their code of conduct

Now a legal battle looming

Interestingly

All 3 players were in white shirts, no ties and black jacket

The pain etched faces of Smittie and Warner felt very contrived

A million kudos to the Proteas with how they’ve navigated this ordeal ????

Just like Hansie Cronje - would he have cried his heart out if never caught? No chance of that happening.

You nailed this one!

Tim Paine is probably getting a serious case of Deja Vu. Batting with the tail once again as he has all series long really. Been very impressive.

We are going to win though it's just a case of what the winning margin will be.

A very big winning margin is in the offing if he keeps bowling like he is in this spell. Warney's surgeon cutting the Aussies into pieces!962e682dd1b9826bdc10603fcad1eb77.jpg

Are the Aussies into BDSM? Cause they really seem to like a good spanking

Chirp of the day

And Vern The Surgeon gets a cool 5er
