So.... hypothetically... If someone got their hands on a C59 frame which bears the scars of years of use... would you restore the paint to factory original or go with one of the more rare paint options?

If it looks good enough that you will love riding it, then keep it as original with battle scars and all and ride it with pride.

If it looks bad enough that you are not going to love riding it, then touch up and restore it to original if it has a classic or attractive paint scheme.

If it is in bad shape and it has one of the bland or ugly (there were a few) paint schemes, then strip and respray in an original Colnago scheme, most preferably Art Decor. Or do a modern tribute to an older scheme like the Sarronni bikes from years gone by. Or do a team classic like Mapei.

Colnagos are bikes that need passion, put some of yours into it!

They did a C59 Mapei in 2014 as well:

The older Mapei schemes has black and orange as well, but I like the more modern option.

Chaps thank you so much for the input. Morph I absolutely love that colour scheme! I also love the Mapei colour scheme but the C60 Mapei seems to be more my taste. The text on the C59 is a little "awkward".
