RANT: PPA CSA and bloody organizers taking the P*** out of cyclists again

R200 for a 56km Race in civilization, FTW? this is not the Atta, i can understand races like that being expensive, they have brilliant water points, its in the middle of nowhere and it takes money to travel and setup and to facilitate all the little extra's they do.

At that price PPA I would rather book accomodation for a Saturday Night in Harkerville, Homtini, Lebanon or one of the other places with awesome trails and enjoy a weekend away. That do a 50km of jeeptrack with maybe 6km of singletrack if I am lucky.

Do us all a favour and get with the bloody program.

OK feelig so much better now.

You sure it's a PPA organised race? Might just be advertised by PPA as a cycling interest but not organised by them or run by them.

This is not a PPA ride, it is organised by Lourensford wine estate to coincide with the end of the Cape Epic. Sure it is a bit of a money maker, but then it is part of the whole Epic finale thing, so there are all sorts of bells and whistles.

No one is forcing you to do it if you dont want to cough up 200 bucks dont.

Just stop supporting the races and they will get the idea.

I dont know who in their right mind would pay that kind of money for such a short race with probably a half ass attempt at a water point.

I have said it before and I will say it again, far better to spend money on the bigger, well organised events, or the events with a small field who is looked after. These one day weekend races are a waste of cash.

I see they have a 15 km trail run for R90, which is good value considering the 2Oceans 22 km trail run was R450

Thats the runners equivelant of the Argus, you expect to get ripped.
