Rode for the 2nd time on Sat. Enjoyed it as much as I did the first time.

My only suggestion is to move those metal rods that the direction arrows are on. I slipped in some sand and almost got taken out by one. Another person riding in our group also had a close call with a metal rod.

anyway, will be back for the 3rd ride soon

Hi All

We have decided to extend the Specialized Test the Best weekend, to include the 23rd and 24th of June 2012.

So for all those who never made it or did not hear about it, now is your chance to come ride our bikes.

We look forward to you joining us this coming weekend.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Hi Ricky

is there going to be a booking system for this test day as well? I am keen to come try out the 29er

Hi All,

There is no booking system, it is on a first come first serve basis.

If the bike you want is not available immediately have some snacks, drink some drink, check out the bikes on display, and ask many questions, and even take a nap on one of the many bean bags.

We look forward to seeing you on the weekend.

Will these bikes have SPD's or eggbeaters?

Karma Last week we had to take our own Pedals. I assume it would be the same this week

Own pedals yeah, works out easier and safer. Get guys pitching up who ride Time, VP, SPD, Crank bros and a variety of other generic cleat brands. Nigh on impossible to cater for everything.

Also people tend to have different tension adjustments on their own pedals, if the pedal has that feature.

Just a few concerns.

I am not trying to be fussy, but until someone gets hurt, then it will be a problem.

is there anyway of getting a route map for the people riding, as we have encountered a few times people heading towards us on a single track, which is dangerous. When ever you guys change the route, can you guys let us know when we pay.

Then, is there no better rate for kids riding, because we are paying R40 for both kids and adults.

Overall i am not unhappy about the track.

there are places on route that riders use the same single track going out and coming back so you will have on commers so to speak . just keep left and the other dude should also keep left and all will be ok.

  • 3 weeks later...

Hey guys!

how are the trails looking these days? do they still have the "Grassy Knoll's" like a few weeks back?? Wanna take my lady there but she has just recovered-ish from a back injury so the less bump the better.

regards.

So ill answer my own question...:) it allot smoother than when i first rode it. Ladies back was fine! one thing though, the markings at the top are quiet confusing with yellow arrows pointing laft and right, back and forward... also, some of poles have burnt down with recent fires and guessing witch way to go is quite confusing... maybe some steel poles so they cant burn down... :)

but the trails are really cool.! flowing and fast! :) THANKS for keeping them open guys! :)
