I am currently using a Mazzer Super Jolly for home use, which is overkill combined with a lot of wasted beans.

Who can recommend a good home grinder at a reasonable price?

I had a Mahlkonigg Vario, but it didn't last. Being electronic, it was too expensive to repair, hence the spare shop grinder being used at home.

Hey bud

Are you looking electronic again? Is it for an espresso machine? Or just in general?

Electronic, check this.

If you want to save some cash but still have a great grinder for your Aeropress etc. Then this is the perfect Manual Grinder

oops -

Buy a Mazzer mini type A - but don't expect fast grinding - there is a reason they have a portafilter stand... you can use the SJ burrs in it - goes a bit faster, but it will never be a robur.

Otherwise wait for the new Baratza Sette 270W

The Sette will only be available later in the year. We will be bringing in some... I am busy playing with the standard... Its a game changer!

You can drop one off when they come in for test... when you are up in Jhb....

Curious to see how it does against my grinders - looks promising though - but kind of hard to imagine it being better and faster than a Robur E - although clearly nothing is impossible.

Edit - all it needs to do is drop the volume of my wifes yelling about kitchen space.... that might be worth a downgrade.

Yeah the Robur is a beast... And far too big for kitchen.

I have used my sette across the board... It has been amazing!

Jhb kitchens are bigger than slaapstad kitchens.... :) Robur's are perfect for home kitchen use - they are too heavy for the wife to throw away....

Newish GF so I'm OK at the moment. Hope it stays that way. The roaster might provoke a reaction though.

When you smoke out the house with the roaster, expect fireworks....  keep an escape route open and a fire extinguisher handy... (for self defence only)

I'm going to put it in a fairly organized tool shed where I keep all my bike stuff and so on. I also make biltong in there.

Is that what you call a spare room in the house?
