Linden Cycles Big Up

Ok, so I take a bike into Linden Cycles on Tuesday for a repair to the rear derailleur after my daughter redesigned the layout. I collect the bike on Wednesday and pay for the repair and a minor gear service, all good and fair.

Around 15h00 I get a call from Janine to say they overcharged me by R 100.00 and how could they refund me. Obviously, in this day and age, I am taken aback. Needless to say I now have a credit with Linden Cycles.

Thanks guys, two BIG thumbs up to Linden Cycles.

I had a super good experience with them and the tubeless tyres on my old bike. they re-did the tubeless conversion for me and then when i had an issue maintaining pressure, they redid it again with no quarrell or extra charge! Go linden!

I personally avoid LBS's

From time to time I need anything urgently, they are my first call.

Just today, I got some 5.1 dot fluid from them. Earlier in the week they had some rotors and adaptors no one in jhb had.

Best thing about them is they have the highest ratio of actual cyclists working in the shop, giving them experiencing unmatched by most other shops....

Linden has a special service ethic. They talked me out of spending more than I needed to my my first bike even though it was not in their own interest to do so. I have supported them ever since and have yet to be disappointed. Sometimes I get irritated when I stand waiting in line on a Saturday until I remember that the reason they are always so busy is just they have so many good customers returning. A big up to Jonene and her team. May Linden cycles go from strength to strength.

Good guys! I like the fact that they employ actual cyclists...

Exactly that!

+they call you when they say they will check up on something and get back to you

+their prices are at least 10% lower on the actual ticket than almost any shop i know

+they have good amount of stock

+no attitudes or "personalities" to deal with

With this kind of service it is no wonder they have managed to stay in business for so long

Exactly that!!!! that is why they got my R35k on a new bike and some spares! even though they are further for me, they were very helpful and the prices were way below anyone else in JHB!

NO "attitudes" or "personalities" like some others i know of! :)

  • 2 years later...

Recently had somewhat of a bad luck disaster, on the Spruit of all places - ended with a destroyed rear wheel/drivetrain.

Just a note of kudos to Linden and specifically Edu, who had made a number of plans to keep me mobile, as I had two races in the time it was going to take to sort things out.  They've also communicated well to make sure I was informed and offered good advice on options.

Linden is location wise my 3rd most convenient, but they have earned top spot in order of preference.

Linden Cycles is by far and away the best cycle shop in Johannesburg. Their attitude, helpfulness, service ethic and prices are the best. It is very seldom that one leaves any shop with a smile on your face and Linden Cycles generally get it right. Their staff are a great mix of experience and youth and all interested in cycling.

Tip: Don't go there on a Saturday morning. The shop is packed and you will have to wait for service.

Was there on Saturday morning and....... I think I had the best experience shopping I have had...

Doing two bike builds at the moment and was looking for very specific small parts (nuts and bolts and odds and ends). Edu (I think that's how you spell it) ran that shop dry for me. He searched high and low and was so helpful and friendly about it. Giving away things for no charge at all. It was amazing. I did purchase some high end  parts also and have more to go so I always do my shopping there.

This was my girlfriends first experience in a bike shop and she couldn't believe how nice they were, that never happens anyone! So big up to them!

After that I popped down to Mikes bikes for a part Linden never had and the same level of service, so friendly and so helpful. The best two shops for cycling!
