Boast about your latest purchases here...

I've used both... and although the ESI's are comfy, I would never use them again. ODI ruffians for the win.

Ok I have the Rogues, I think they must be like 2yrs old. All the other grips I had lasted max 6mths. Just thought I would try something else because these have become very 'sticky' - apparently happens with age.

Was there looking for options for my moms crutches, bought these and road bike tape to try out - the tape worked. After reading all the comments on here about how amazing these are I bought them.

Why won't you ever use these ESI grips again?

  • Firstly they're not really intended for the bike I pt them on (a dirt jump bike). My other bikes are also more gravity orientated. The sort where you want your grips to stay put.
  • I found the ESI's squirm around a bit. Even when using hairspray to apply.
  • They get pretty slippery on ones hands when riding in wet weather.
  • They can't be installed and removed as easily as lock-ons, (like when you want to take shifters off etc.
  • Aesthetically they look a little cheap. Especially with that end cap.
  • I find they're overprices for a tube of foam.

Arent they silicon?

Yeah I guess your points are all valid. Will try them out one of these days. Also worried about about no lock on - I don't trust no damn hairspray.

speaking of ewwww, I forgot to menition that they do have a tendency to absorb sweat and get pretty stinky

Better put them up for sale then. I hate stinky things, esp. on my bike

For me only the last point applies. All the other i didn't have that issue. They are the most comfortable grips "in the world (clarkson voice)"....

Agree tho, thats patches experience, ride them make your opinion!!!

Bought these over the weekend in PE, how do these compare to the ODI lock ons?

Where in pe did you get those and what did you pay peewee?

I just replaced my bars, got my old ones on and off just using a small screwdriver slid under it and some elbow grease. Want to replace them though because they're cut to fit my bar ends and I use them less and less so want to take them off now. Need new grips though to do that.

I find them very comfortable, no smell as I ride with gloves always.
