The first batch of nutters doing the Freedom Challenge leave Maritzburg for Paarl tomorrow morning. Snow all over the mountains already!

well i wouldn't mind being one of those nutters one day when i'm big and have some money lol

I think it would be a real life experience and a real testing challenge to ones self. and apparently one can also do Cairo to the Cape

looking out my window, and seeing all this rain and wind and cold - I cannot imagine what it is going to be like, when its dark, 3 am in the morning, cold wet and windy, you are lost, exhausted and miles from anywhere and you need to find a house ..... I will find out soon enough, but not this year tho

Watched the Freedom Challenge on SuperSport a few nights ago. Must have been a rebroadcast of the 2011 event.

Wow, what a spectacular event and so beautifully and subtly filmed.

Respect to all those who embark on that journey.

GABRAN might be the closest you'll get in the short term!

3 days. Maybe a bit short. The longest tar ride, similar in intensity to Freedom Challenge (although much shorter) is the 600km Audax rides held in CT and Jozi. I stand to be corrected if anyone knows of anything longer.
