Dropper Posts: Things are hotting up

Part of the reason the Crap Brothers Joplin was such a disaster of note was the seat clamp / tilt design. 10 Years later and Pro copies it.

So did Giant.

The main reason the Crap Bros one was *** is because of who made it. Lovely looking kit, but utter rubbish.

Ordered an internal routed dropper. Going to have to drill hole near bottom of seat tube or possibly drill through bottom bottle cage hole.

Advice from those who HAVE done this would appreciated. Would you do it again?

Also makes swopping one post between multiple bikes a breeze, is the wireless via Bluetooth?

Thanks AlanD. I read the other thread. I note you drilled on the back side of the seat tube. Have you not had debris ingress being splashed up from rear wheel ?

What i did was tape the hole as well as i could to prevent debris getting in there. You can buy grommets to try fit in the hole. So far i have not had any issues with it. Can send you a pic of how i taped it up if you like

All good thanks. Will probably do the tape/grommet option. Drilling into the back of the tube is a whack easier as far as access for the drill goes.

Awaiting delivery of the dropper I ordered

Second on the gromments have seen them used before and they work great!

So much easier at the back and the routing can be done neater. I route the cable under the bb, piggy backed on the rear RD cable and up into the FD cable guide thingy. Worked out lekker
