Personally, I would find it quite hard to offer him a job. Especially one which requires a certain measure of responsibility.

Perhaps he'll become a Nutrition rep? Or sell spares at the LBS.

outside of the cycling fraternity people will forget about this in no time at all and it will just be a case of "I used to be a pro cyclist" and the answer will be "oh, cool"

Personally, i would not hire him....its like those people that kick their ball out the rough when no one is looking...if you cannot be trusted on the sports field...you cannot be trusted in the business world

What a load of BS..........Maybe you should try Mountain biking sometime. I do both, road and MTB, and 3 hrs MTB racing is definitely tougher than 3 hours on the road................

You'll be surprised how low the pro's averages are on multi stage races. According to reliable sources they average at about 140bpm which is about the same as a grand tour rider's average, so don't kid yourself to think that mountain biking is balls to the wall all the time. It is furthermore much easier to finish the Epic within cutoff time that what it is to finish a grand tour stage within cut off time, so don't assume that roadies are soft and have it easier.

Oh just for the record, I'm a mountain biker so its not a case of mine's bigger than yours

Still no comment from mr Evans?

Question: In a case like this where a athlete tests positive for dope, can the sponsor take the athlete to court for damaging their image?

May I just point out a very ironic fact:

All the “experts” on thehub sit around criticizing DG for the use of EPO AND his opponents for not “ratting him out” as it appears everyone “in the know” knew that this was happening.

Then in the same thread, the same “experts” completely overlook and ignore posts made by well known and accomplished WC cyclists who highlight the same transgressions being made by local riders.

Point is the sport needs to be cleaned up. And they need not stop at testing elite riders. They need to target the Sub vet, Vet & Masters categories as well!! These guys have the money to "afford" performance-enhancing drugs and more chance to "hide" it..

I got this a while back from a fellow Hubber:

Haematocrit when from0.4 to 0.48 after 2 months of been in tent!!!

So is it ethical?

I must really applauded everyone’s holier than thou attitude while still sitting around with your heads buried in the sand.

No one protests for action from CSA, No one protests for the culprits to be named and shamed, No one calls for Truth and Reconciliation to move towards a drug free sport, if fact no one even comments on these posts!

I guess doping is everyone else’s problem to resolve and yours to comment on after the fact.

Remember your future is what you make of it!

I find mountain bike races to be at a high intensity the entire time. In road races the intensity is high but not all the time but those maximum efforts just kills me. There is no difference in avg haertrate for me between road and mountain bike race

No man, it's a disease...

(ps, nice post, it'll go completely over the top of the heads of most hubbers, but hey...)

I think the odds of KE not knowing is very slim, these guys spend 5hrs+ a day together.

I know a guy who was able to hide his own HGH use from his own wife.. and his staff at the office that has a communal fridge. He had a small coolbox where he kept his gear, keeping them cold by rotating blue plastic ice blocks. The coolbox was in his cupboard in the office at work and in the garage when home on the weekends. At night during the week, he'd leave his stuff in the office fridge and then make sure he was first to the office in the morning.

If someone's sly enough to be able to keep something like this from their wife, hiding it from a riding partner is not too difficult.

On the question of which results are to be taken away, can't they just ask DG when exactly he doped through the years and go from there? It shouldn't be a problem with him being so honest with his statement and not asking for the b sample to be tested.

Permission to move this to the "Funnies" thread?

Why is everyone waiting for Kevin Evans to say something? Is he married to this George oke or something?

That's like when Vino got nicked, desperately waiting for Kash to say something, and then Kash got nicked too. Wait, maybe that isn't the analogy ya'll want, see as none may cast aspersion on Evans?

difficult to put a monetary value to the image loss..

Im not sure what the big deal is. Doping in cycling has been going on for as long as it has been a pro sport. Nothing has changed in the last 40 years or so. Only difference is nowdays media is instant and social and when a dude gets busted it goes viral for a few days then the next social story is on and evryone forgets this one.

Facts are this Cycling as a "sport" has zero credibility its as credible as bodybuilding or WWF. The pros are all doped up they wouldnt have a snowballs chance if they didnt dope. The question i have is why do sponsors, fans media etc act so dissapointed , suprised when it happens??? The sport is a drug sport and that is that, either accept cycling for what it is " a sport that is heavily dependent on potions and witchcraft to make you go faster" or watch another sport. Simple as that.

But please all the lance haters and lovers and DG haters/lovers get a grip its not new and its not going to stop, its call pro cycling either accept it or move along.

Nice post. But.

You can't accuse someone if you do not have PROOF. These days people sue left, right and centre and in a public forum one cannot just say this and that and sis and so.

So to comment on something posted on a public forum that is not FACT but something that someone SAID.....potential career ending move.

That said, it is VERY easy to drop a line to DrugfreeSA to tell them and as AUTHORITY on the matter can prove what is fact and what is not.
