Ahhh what a cool day out - realised at the start that I had no chip and that I was, in fact, sick of racing bikes (yeah it happens) so I ride with some pals and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Didn't bleed from the eyeballs once.

Max was taking it even easier than I was and I passed him around 15km mark - he was soft pedalling to the extreme.

My time was...hang on...I have no idea.

I find it intersting that a 50 something VET finishes a few minutes behind Platt in 3rd place. Really need to get onto his training programme!!!!!!!

I did 2:53 on my SS starting from A2. More than 20 minutes faster than last year from the same batch, so I'm stoked! (must be the 29er)

The winning results, and results in general, are going to cause some excitement I think.

I've heard there is a special medal for those who complete the full MTB race and the 94.7 Road race, is this true?

I would like to know as well. The last time I did both, they were definitely giving special medals out for doing both. I did the short MTB route then, and they had run out of medals, so they were giving out Livestrong (are we allowed to say that word nowadays) type bands with a promise of posting a medal to you later ... I never got mine.

To clarify, they were allowing the "double" to be done by doing the short or the long MTB ride at the time, but I'm not sure about now.

There was a girl in A8 on a single speed, saw her a number of times through the ride. She didn't even look tired. Hats off to her.

That was my wife. She has an extremely high pain threshold! So proud of her!
