Last week whilst on holiday we stopped at the Total garage near Stormsriver, when a taxi pulls up to the fuel pump next to us with a rental trailer and a cow tied up with a short rope around it's neck to the trailer's railings. The rope was too short for the animal to stand and too high for it to lie down. Needles to say the animal was bleeding profusely from its mouth and horns from being bashed around as the vehicle was moving. My wife was traumatised and close to tears. When I confronted the driver he just ignored my appeal to change the rope and said it was none of my business and he was on his way to a funeral where the animal was going to be slaughtered anyway.

Can be very traumatic indeed. We will never sell cattle or sheep for funerals as these animals suffer incredible pain. You also cannot tell me that the farmer who sold the cow to these people didnt see them tying up on the trailer. These people believe that the animal is going to die anyway so it can suffer, it wont be able to remember it anyway cauze it will be dead.

I read in the local newspaper that an eye witness says that the dog was already dead. He (the driver) was on his way to the local garbage tip and didnt want the dog in the back of his pick up so he towed it behind his vehicle to the tip. This is however an eyewitness account, the matter is being investigated.

Then you call someone to get rid of the body in a humane way! What a rubbish story

...aah, a culture thing then.. wacko.png

Exactly its a culture thing. I had a chat to a black lady that worked with me. She was brilliant and had completed her degree in the UK. I was discussing funerals in her culture with her. She said to me that I should always remember that us black people dont do pets. An animal is there to serve a purpose and do a job. It has no rights whatsoever. And before I get ripped apart and branded a racist by people that dont know me, this was an experience that I had, I am not saying that everybody who is black believes in this

The eye witness' story was on the 4x4 forums somewhere. He apparently tried to stop the driver but he only talked to them through the window.

Still sick if you ask me.

Hey all

What about the fools driving behind this D..k. Where were they or this dude that took the pic? WHY WAS NOTHING DONE. Typical of us humans. Willing to scream and shout, but to scared to get involved!

Same situation as with Burry. Someone must have seen what happened. He was not on a deserted road in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunitely this oke got released with a warning for now. Get rid of rubbish like them!!

Back to the point.

I am sure that if this loser checked his mirrors when turning something must have caught his eye!

No excuses, He's a wolly.

Went to Transkei this Holiday for a couple of days. I saw alot of bakkies, and on top of the bakkies canopy is a goat or sheep that is still alive just tied down and bouncing around.cursing.gif
