I used pepper recently recently on a thief - dropped like lead! Retrieved my goods and that was that. Crowd with him scattered.

Who knows how, but I got some on myself, eish its potent. SWAT was the brand.

I keep one in the door pocket of my car, another clipped onto the back strap of my cycling day pack, another by my front door. and one under my bed.

Surely you don't mean mace.... mace almost definitely will blind you.

Dunno what it was. It came from a can in a mist... stung like hell. Couldn't see, my face swelled up.

Ok, I have this one from Cape Union Mart that I have fitted to my left shoulder (I am right handed so reaching across is a very quick and smooth motion) ... all I need to do is reach across and pull the canister out of the tube.

I know SAPS uses SWAT.

Not sure about the strength about ours, but the NYPD/etc uses pepper spray that's rated at 6m on the Scoville scale (compare this to a Habanero that's around 600'000.

Apparently in the mace vs taser challenge the US cops recommend pepper spray as a more effective 1 stop device.

Dunno hey... couldn't see the can properly. Perhaps that was due to my eyes melting.

May be a dumb question, but is it safe for asthmatics to use? Dont want a small amount accidentally getting on me and then almost dying.

There are no dumb questions on here. Only incorrect questions.

From first hand experience (har har), it doesn't effect the airways at all. Just swells the face up.

You may drown from tears, but that's about it.
