I guess the 'sad' part is that threads with useful info like the 'Chinese bikes' and LCHFXU ones are completely gone and the swiss alps one has lost some the useful info .... the Chinese one and the LCHFXU ones may in fact be impossible to get back to where they were?

Progress update #2: We've had major issues restoring corrupted data and are having to revert back to older data for certain items. User profiles, PMs, and many other items will be unaffected, however crucially we will lose more recent topics, posts and classified listings.

After exhausting all avenues and expertise to recover data, we have made the decision to revert to older data and get back online.

That's the bad news, the good news is that The Hub should be back online in the morning, albiet with an outcome VERY far from what we'd hoped for.

Thank you once again for your patience and our utmost apologies for any and all inconvenience caused.

Hi Hubbers, we're finally on the last little stretch.

Files and an older database have been restored, we're just ironing out some kinks in the new server setup. We've had to set up two new servers from scratch hence things have taken far longer than anticipated.

We're expecting to be online by 12 today.

Will keep you updated on progress every 30 mins or so.

System admin/DBA failed his primary responsibility.

 

Making backups is of no use if you don't test that they can be used to restore.
