Pyga or Trance (probably SX) what do you think?

Took a pyga 120 650b for a spin and was suitably impressed.

I like giant, currently have an anthem 29er, and faithful trances and reigns are much loved by their keepers.

Also open to other suggestions...

Davinci looks good, but like so many others, doesn't really make it to our shores.

If you can afford the Pyga then that's the boy. Just for that little exclusivity factor. You can get Devinci's from Haven Distribution in the UK.

I've not ridden any of them and I think a Reign X is a cross country bike so don't take my word at all.

Just had another look at the geo of the Reign X vs the Trance 27.5...

Seems the Reign X should JUST have thh advantage ito chuckability. Whew! Was worried I'd have to sell it!

At least mine has a slightly lower HA with the 170mm Lyrik up front. But only just.

Shorter chainstays, shorter wheelbase & slightly higher standover height. Higher BB as wel, which is a slight disadvantage in the handling stakes.

Trance SX though - that has a 66 deg HA - 1 degree slacker. Damn. Gonna have to go all angle-setty on my bike.

COUGH COUGH!!!!

Took her out for a proper spin for the first time today at my local trail (Hoogekraal, for the cpt peeps)... Dam! This thing is a beast... Had a blast! I now know why cpt armpies mayhem likes his ride so much. My first time on 1x10 as well, was tough at times, but I made it all the way up without too much hassle.

Looks shweet,i still like those rims

What saddle is that ?

A few upgrades:

RockShox Revelation RCT3 dual position solo air (from Revelation RL)

KS DropZone

Hope Hubs laced to Spank Spike Race rims.

On my to-buy-list:

Straitline bashring

Smaller chainring(s) - running a 40 / 28 at the moment.

Going to fit a 3x10 SLX crank & would like to know whether I can run it with a 36 / 26 chainring combination?

I read somewhere that different chainrings (sizes) only picks up from certain sizes.

Yes, it will work. Could even run 36/24 or 36/22

Lol. Told you! Yeah, she's a bit porky on the climbs, but dayum. Point her nose down and it's a totally different animal.

But she is comfortable enough yo ride all day every day. That suspension just WORKS.
