SyncSA Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 That would be unfortunate, I think he deserved the opportunity to defend his Jersey, I dont think he could win again, but he is still the jersey holder and he deserves the right to defend it,........ I cant say the SKY media releases are comforting. Pity - think it will always be on the mind of the 2013 GC rider - "what if Wiggo was riding?"
SyncSA Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 You can't discount J. Rodriquez he has been in a wind tunnel to improve his time trialing. Andy Schleck may be a very dark horse. For Cav his lead out train is improving. I really like Andy, but I don't think he is ready for this years TDF. Lost some faith in him.
GrumpyOldGuy Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Pity - think it will always be on the mind of the 2013 GC rider - "what if Wiggo was riding?" Yah, he doesn't get a lot of credit here but in my view he is a fine rider, his Palmares proves that. T-Bob and carbon29er 2
T-Bob Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) I really like Andy, but I don't think he is ready for this years TDF. Lost some faith in him. I've never really liked (M)Andy and I couldn't put a finger on it at all until I was watching this years Giro and Nibbles riding off. It's because Andy is always looking back, constantly and the guys I grew up watching, and even this year with Nibs, they attacked, and just looked up the road to the finish. The only time that those guys looked back was when they knew they'd killed everyone else off and threw out a look in the last 100m just to check if someone was going to sneak past them on the line. Now that you mention it, can remember him doing that. But I liked his calm style of riding and climbing ability

SyncSA Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) How does this news affect your TDF predictions? Edited May 31, 2013 by SyncSA
SyncSA Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Why would the votes for Froome be higher than for Wiggo? I thought there was only one top rider in a team?
SyncSA Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Usually, but not always. Must cause problems in the team. I remember the old Astana team where Lance and Berto were the top riders, didn't workout that well Bonus 1
Bonus Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Worked out ok for Alberto . . . lol But yes, a major problem I should think.
dommisse Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Just my 2 cents - i was made to believe a few months ago that Froome will be lead dog in Sky - even if Sir W was in team.
Lucky Luke. Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Warmup time for June 29. I loved this clip, the commentary is just top draw. At 40 seconds in:Duffield: Has he got a problem?Roche: No No No, LegsDuffield: Legs are gone As if legs don't constitute a problem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnKhhfX5tEQ today's riders are donkeys compared to the 60 hct jet engines of '96
'Dale Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 "Froome goes in as red-hot favorite to win the Tour and possibly the only guy that could have beaten him would have been Bradley." Sutton, Sky's Team Principal
Guest Oom Kalahari! Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Sometimes I think 'dale is the only true cyclist here... no BS Sepia and SyncSA 2
