400 entries left....and entries taken are all paid for. Seems like we have till the weekend to decide, if it is going to last that long!

Oh man - yea the FOMO is strong...

Also in the camp that was hoping to make a call after 70.3... Instead will call it either way tonight....

With 100 entries sold in a day I have taken the plunge. Hell I've been training for it for three months already so had to do it at some point.

How far is it again, is it harder than the Argus?

Not really, last week there were 800. They are selling about 100 entries a day for an event that has never sold out. As it already stands this would be a record field.

The previous sponsor actually paid a portion of the entry so technically this year is almost twice as expensive than last.

That’s kind of what I was saying. They’ve hiked the effective price up, but the demand has somehow still risen.

The Kool Aid must be tasty.

Sport is growing fast - South Africans just featured in Kona and one only needs to look at MDT and Embark to see how many newbies come in every year. I know think that wave that hit 70.3 has now progressed to the Full!

Are you in?

on an unrelated note - are you rocking your Jean Pant?

Not in, would like to see what all the fuss is about one day.

but if i was then it would be in my recovery gear.

Currently race budget is angling towards a weeklong adventure race in northern transkei next may.

I think a lot have entered due to the whole pressure of entries running out. Brilliant marketing idea by IMSA. Check month end when another 100 will enter after payday and then it will slow right up until year end probably. In any case don't be surprised if IMSA increases entry size to 2,500. What's another 300 entries @ R4,250? (R1,3m)

IMSA 2014 will be epic with so many athletes. Hopefully they will be more lenient in terms of drafting as a lot more people will need to pass one another on the bike.....

I enter when I have the money. Last year it was in early Jan. This year I entered the day before entries closed as I did not have the money but then received a sponsor. I will approach it the same this year. If they run out...it wasn't meant to be.
