Gotta love the CSA supporters supporting affirmative action ........

Yeah thats what they're trying. "Oh we're so underpriviledged please help us, you haave to hand over your money to us so we can squander it in on our friends childrens dreams of the winning the TdF.."

sound familiar.

If CSA cannot manage its own business model htf do think they are going to manage PPA's after they affirmatise it...?

But yeah, some folk dream of being big bicycler racers...

PPA is what it is based on its success. CSA has not right to it. PERIOD. It was not stolen from the CSA, it was built up by the Rotary clubs, PPA and Western Cape Cyclists so F CSA

Hear hear, from your lips to God's ears (I'm not an Atheist). CSA should keep it's dirty paws off the Western Cape and PPA!

I recall from my volleyball days in the 90's there were constant debates/fights between WPVolleyball and Volleyball SA. it has a similar smell to this this thread. WPVolleyball even went as far to dissaffiliate from the national body. the same questions were asked? what does the national body do for the sport? the top WP volleyball players hardly got international exposure and we had to have cake sales for someone to go overseas. Despite our beaches, we can't even attract FIVB beach volleyball events, never mind national tournaments. national bodies, grrrrr, very political too, always fatcats involved.

for me, if I were PPA, i would join but not part with the money.

CSA vs PPA, at the end of the day I hope cycling wins

tubby reddy involved back then too?

It seems like the PPA supporters have their minds set on what they think is right. Its going to be funny if CSA win in the court.

PPA's case is strong and there are other strong non affiliated cycling bodies around the world that operate independently of the national bodies.

I am a member of PPA and I am sick and tired of their attitude

They better pull their horns in and fall in with the rest of the country

Do they think they will get all that sponsorship and TV coverage if the licensed riders do not take part.No

CSA has been entrusted with the mentorship, growth and regulation of cycling in South Africa and PPA are standing in the way and being obstructive.Catch a wake up!

Seriaaas !! I hope CSA looses whatever they try . They mean nothing to me and has never done anything for me on the other hand when I stayed in Slaapstad PPA did lots for us . As far as I am concerned CSA and UCI can take their rules and stick up there .

Sounds like a good candidate for UDI

Unilateral Declaration of Independence? That's basically the route PPA will go if CSA keeps on trying to wag the dog (goose that lays the golden eggs?)

It would be wise to read up a little on the history of the Argus

Originally it was not a sanctioned event and licensed riders were not permitted to participate.

Rotary and the organisers bent over backwards to get the green light for the pros to take part and were only too happy when done so.Now you want to go backwards??

And therein lies the problem. PPA does f-all for me outside the Western Cape, but now they go an raise an application in the high court which is going to cost me (as a CSA member money).

On the other hand, what do i see for my R75 from CSA? I see them at every race I partake in spending 4+ hours to make sure that the results are correct, there has been no cheating, people who have had an accident are helped and in general the rules are followed. I see them organising provincial and national d'h and Xc races, which is ultimately promoting the sport, and I see them lobbying for and helping bring the World cup and World champs to this country. For R75 that looks like a good bargain to me.

I have paid both my PPA and CSA affiliation fees for the year. So where does that leave me!?

PPA has been doing a great job in the WP for about 35 years? I'm sure the Capetonians wouldn't want to pay more money for what they already have, so why must they be forced to?

If PPA don't do anything for you in another province, get off your butt and start off with nothing like WPPPA did and make something of it.

Maybe PPA should charge "out of towners" the CSA fee for the Argus but not the locals, would you CSA supporters rather prefer that?

PPA does not own the Argus
