A guy crashed quite badly on the way into modder, well at least before he hit the trails, sounds like he hit the new speed bump then face planted into the cattle bridge, i think he broke his nose, lost all his front teeth and possibly broke his arm, hope you doing ok dude.

Oh know!!!

Those speed bumbs can catch you unawares, I have gone into a near death wobble after hitting one at speed before

Hit it for the first time on my rigid not paying attention, won't happen again

thats a bummer hope they guy recovers okay. I think those speed bumps where put there specifically to slow the cars down when they go over the cattle grid. Too many cars going over the grid at speed and the steel beams eventually break loose.

But I can't understand why that cattle grid is still there. I think it used to be a gate which has been removed with the fence so it don't figure as it serves no purpose.

Just as a heads up. There have been complaints about cars speeding on that narrow road between the 1st security gate all the way up to the parking area. Noone is pointing fingers a cyclists specifically, but guys lets keep to the speed limit before we land up with another issue like we had at Suikerbos Nature Reserve. Would really hate to see cyclists being banned because a few couldn't keep to the speed limit for 4 or 5 km's

It's a new section they put in, it is where you exit the trail and turn right back to the car park and yes it was put in to slow us down, it's like a cattle grid, but the train track they used is quite far apart and the speed bump is small but very effective. It's not a problem if you park and ride, only if you ride to the park and then do the trail.

It's relatively new, put it that way.

Was there on Sunday, still some knobs driving out of there way faster than 30 - and best part - same knobs that refuse to move over so both vehicles can pass without me having to go right off the road. *rant off*

How's the guy? anyone know?

Hope he heals up ok.

Separately though. From the beginning the speeding was a problem, including many coming to ride there.

Maybe there needs to be a wall of shame for these */* like the the poeples getting out their car at Kruger.

Would be more than ok with the good folk at Modders having a sting for guys speeding and escorting them off the property.
