I have spend way to much money on buying bike parts from CWC (best service and prices by the way)online. Anyway I needed a set of disc breakes for a project and fond what looked like a good deal from Evobike. Being the first time I was going to deal with them I phoned to confirm that it was indeed a full brake set and placed the order after being told that it is a full brake set. Now was I wrong to expect the following in a full set?

Front brake

Back brake

2 x rotors

2x adapters

8x bolts

This looks more like I got half a set of brakes that was striped of a bike.

don't think rotors are ever included in a brake set.

Have to agree...bought two sets of hydraulic brakes, brand new, the past 5 years, only diff's were mine were in boxes, no rotors, no bolts, no adaptors...thats aftermarket items

Always had good service from Naas and the guys at Evobikes. Stripped off a bike? I don't think so. Drop him a PM if you want clarity on your order. I'm sure he'll shed some light on the matter.

Sorry dunno what happened there...

Back to topic, when I bought a brake set, also Avid, about 2 years ago from a reputable online retailer, it was boxed and included everything mentioned in the first post. Yes, rotors as well...

I agree with the MTBeer and Ed-Zulu. Just got M615 Shimano brakeset in boxes. Comes with fixing bolts for post-mount frames and forks, but no more. Adaptors are only if you decide to upsize to 180+mm rotors, or have older IS mount points, in which case you'll have some serious searching to do for the right adaptors. Rotors are almost never included.

A mate of mine ordered a brake set from CRC last year, he got it in a box which included the brakes, rotors and bolts (no adapters).

In SA it seems that its the norm that rotors are sold separately.

I have also had nothing but good service and value from Evobikes. I bought a set of Sram XO brakes from CRC and got the same as you did, no rotors no adaptors no bolts. I recall that when I bought rotors they came with bolts and the adaptors were specific to type of mount iso or post and the size of the rotor 140, 160, 180 etc. and also bought separately.
