Front fork: Fox 34 Talas CTD Adjust fit factory 160mm travel

Shock: Fox Float CTD performance BV 160mm travel

Brakes: Avid X0 trail with Avid elixir 7 brake levers

Wheel set: SUN Ringlé Charger Expert

Group set: Sram X9

Front fork: Rock shox Pike RCT3 160mm travel

Shock: Rock Shox Monarch RT3 160mm travel

Brakes: Avid Elixir 5

Wheelset: DT Swiss E1900 Spline 27,5

 

Both weigh: 13.90

Both have Rock shox RS Reverb Stealth dropper posts.

 

Also has anyone bought from these online stores?

I am thinking of taking either of these bikes on Omega man's trip to Morzine in 2014.

I'd go with the YT for two reasons. 1 Pike and 2 Monarch.

 

2013 CTD has been a bit of a disaster and 2014 doesn't look too good at the moment. The BV Fox my HD came OE with would heat up and lose performance in no time.

Problem with Canyon is they don't ship to SA anymore. They only sell online so you will have to buy while in another country, I don't know how that will affect warranty.

Canyon FTW - pity they won't ship here both are way better value than big name brand bikes. Get a relative to order one or use their address when you order and they can bring it over or ship it for you.

YT - mirroring Crow's reasoning. The PIKE beats the 34 hands down any day of the week ito adjustability & reliability, especially with Fox's C(rap) T(rademarked) D(amping) system that has had more than just one report of un-warranted, uncontrollable fork dive just when you need it.

 

The Pike, on the other hand, is a RS Gem.
