Crazy news in that Lorenzo may get Ianonne's seat if he is not allowed to race.

I really don't understand the motivation behind this. Jorge is not bike fit at all. He's not been training, he's not been racing, he was 3s slower on a Factory M1 at the Portimao test than the GP riders on ROAD bikes.

And he got fat.

It must be nostalgia with his success at Aprilia in his early career. I don't think that Jorge is a contender any longer. But, maybe his knowledge and style manages to sort the Aprilia out, but again, the issue is not the chassis, they need more ponies. Which Jorge can't help them with.

I don't get it. I would much rather have Dovi on the Aprilia than Jorge.

He had 3 or 4 weeks notice on the Portimao test though. I think Yamaha mismanaged him completely and I get the feeling they only signed him to tie him up. Why did he not ride the 2020 M1 in Valencia/Sepang tests?? Makes no sense.

That being said I do feel his time is up, as is Dovi's. Dovi had all the kit to beat Marc but couldn't, and that is fine. He can move along, along with quite a few of the established old school riders.

Yes they can race well, and finish well but can they beat Marc? If not then they are holding a seat of a rider who could.

Personally looking forward to the new rookies moving up next year.

Personally like Jorge Martin but lets see.

No I 100% agree. I also think that Yamaha signed him only to not having available for anyone else, but Jorge did himself no favours by not being ready when called upon. Sure COVID wrecked training plans for most people, but I think back to Tito Rabat in Moto2, where he spent just about every single non-race weekend on a CBR600RR at Alcaniz turning laps to ensure that he was doing the maximum that he could, whereas I get the feeling that Jorge was just chilling. Which he is 100% entitled to do, but then shouldn't expect to also be in high demand.

If you follow Lorenzo on Twitter he is done.

He has no need for more money, same can be said for 99% of the grid though.

That's where Stoner has my respect, when he was done, he was done. Yes he did the testing, but on his terms with no PR.

But he wasn’t done, he had so much left in him. Was not a huge “fan”, but ef me that guy could ride a bike. Edited by Patchelicious

Yup 100% agreed. I don't actively follow Jorge, but based on what I've seen on Instagram he has no need. And that's the weird thing about racers - most of them just don't know how/when to stop. It must be some form of addiction in the end. Look at Rossi. I have massive admiration for his incredible career, but I don't see this season doing his reputation any good to be honest.

I hear you, as a racer, Stoner wasn't done, but as an individual he just didn't want to do it any more. And that I respect. He won his championships, he's got a hot wife and two kiddos, and wanted to go fishing instead. He could have made MILLIONS more, but that wasn't the most important thing for him.

I don't think he was done with racing, I think he was done being moaned at.

Ha ha Dovi had all the kit to beat Marc but couldn't; Miller, Zarco, Petrucci etc couldn't either and still can't make much of an impression. Mostly they cannot do better overall than Dovi.

Dovi finished second to the amazing MM twice but he can move along but Rossi needn't. Ducati are just piss poor managers of riders and it is a lot about the showmanship.

Andrea Iannone 4 year ban for doping

That's what you get when you are accuser and the jury unfortunately.

BrotGP put it perfectly, Iannone eats a tainted steak and gets banned for 4yrs, yet Yamaha admits to using an illegal engine, gets docked a few points and their riders get zero recourse.

Starting to sound like F1.......
