ALL SPRUIT RIDERS MUST WATCH, especially Strava**holes

They are around you all the time.

If you get out of the Spruit and join them on a nice longish ride with some nice technical stuff thrown in to the mix, you might get to see them.

All I have seen from the Spruit cool clan thus far have been injuries and wait for it, more injuries.

The baggy wearers tend to be the ones who constantly target the lycra wearers and commenting as to how much skill they lack, it's only time they return the favor.

Ill keep an eye out. Must really suck buying a big boy bike just to pose with it.

I reckon the Spruit is made up of many people but two groups that make it unpleasant .

Group number one being the poser rats and group number two the "race snakes" call them average people with delusions of grandeur.

Yea....they are all BearClaw / Coolharvey's in their minds. You can see it in their faces

Ahhhh man I wish this 29er vs 26, lycra vs baggy, rigit vs long travel will just stop

Let rather start debating about how unsafe it is riding our bikes these days (not just talking about on the road, mostly off road too).

Just look at my pic, I am on a 150mm AM with lycra and clips, and guess what, I use that same bike on the spruit also wearing lycra.

Not a chance, and it always starts with comments like these.

Every fire just needs a little spark.

Too bad its the Lycra clad 29er riding **** that almost took out a little boy in Delta yesterday.

Us "river rats" slow down and pass wide. People have right of way in public parks.

I can't help but think that Nigel Hicks should come and teach the river rats how to ride their bikes .

Yea right, Nigel teach me something, whatever

I got 7" for the spruit, thats all i need.

Yeah, I feel sorry for them too.

All that travel and no balls.

 what would you know about balls?

Nobody has ever complained when ladies wear lycra .... or am I missing something?

If you paid attention you would have seen it started with this comment.

River rats you have been WARNED

Not everyone that rides a 29er and wears Lycra is an a***hole

Agree 100%. And likewise not everyone who rides trail bikes are posers.

This is not a cycling only occurrence. In surfing and golf people are labeled all the time, based on their equipment or performance.

What I struggle to understand about modern society is that people cannot allow others to just be what they want to be. Everyone needs to fit into a little box with a label based on how they look and what they do.

I saw that, and the video has a guy on a long travel bike and that comment must have been made in reference to that.

It didn't say "river rat @$$holes ,you've been warned"

Not much, and that is why I don't over capitalize on travel, I make no mince about the fact that I don't have balls of steel, nor exceptional skill.

You need those for the spruit....who knew? :whistling:

Rigid... is NOT spelled with a T... :)

I am with you on this H - this really should be about having some MANNERS on the trail - I really don't care what people wear or ride..... EXCEPT that they must have a helmet on.... and with the straps done up.

Until you start making use of the words 'Gnarly','Fully' and 'Duuude...!', nobody will even understand what you're on about...
