I do this all the time- there is nothing like passing a road up a hill on my mtb- its nearly as good as passing traffic.

The only thing that this guy did wrong is wear an earphone.

I think roadies just can't take being passed by things with wider wheels than themselves.

Attacking someone on a climb and then fading halfway up. Jy maak jou naam gat.

Gobbing, I think we all do it.

Maybe the OP was going just that little bit too slow...and the "atacker" took a chance and fialed...? so what?

live and let live, i say....

UNLESS he cut you off and you end up in the gutter... then you can let rip into him...else, smile and wave - just smile and wave...

Somewhere on TheHub a thread exists:

MTBer on Contermanskloof not helping fellow cyclist

So there I was riding on Contermanskloof road when I steadily come up to another cyclist. He was going a little slower than me so I decided to overtake him as the climb started. Just after I passed him a fly flew into my mouth!! I sort of clogged my throat and I was struggling to breathe. I had to reduce my speed as I was not getting any air. Finally I was able to worm the thing out of my throat and spit it out. Then the cyclist I just passed comes up to me me and asks: "Was that really necessary??". WOW. So much for caring for your fellow cyclist.
