Maybe the slightly heavier mtb had built up a bit more momentum on the downhill which carried him past the roadie and halfway up the hill before it ran out of steam ???

strava,,,,unlikely since segments end at the top of a climb

 

fly..........protein would have made him faster!!!!!!!

 

MOST LIKELY HE IS LIKE EVERY SINGLE ONE ON THE HUB YOU SEE A CYCLIST CALL IT A RABBIT/HARE/TARGET, WE IMMEDIATELY SEE IT AS A CHALLENGE AND WE CHASE AND WE CHASE, SOMETIMES WE QUICK ENOUGH SOMETIMES WE NOT...........PERSONALLY I WOULD HAVE HAD A LITTLE CHUCKLE, NOTHING YOU SAID TO HIM HURT HIM AS MUCH AS HIS PRIDE KICKED HIM SQUARE IN THE JUNK BOX

I must say I haven't been cycling that long (8 months) and most cyclists I've came across are friendly but there are the odd one's out who have a dik houding.

 

Something similar happened to me two days ago where a guy almost tried to ride over me with his bicycle after I slowed down to cross the road. Didn't even see him. Then he tried to dice me like they do in Brakpan and I just laughed it off as I was busy cooling off.

 

Hoping to see him at Dirtmax tomorrow so that he can eat my dust. I'll be polite about it as well!

Could also have been that ring on fire thing that he was rushing to extinguish, in a bush somewhere, off-road (where mtb's belong)

A guy did a similar thing to me. Shot past me like i wasn't even moving. Then he started panting like crazy and stopped pedaling. It's annoying when people think to much of themselves.

True!

 

but it goes both ways, sometimes I would pass a slower rider at the bottom of a climb and the guy's ego would suddenly kick in and he would chase madly after you up the hill trying to catch you (as if you insulted him by daring to pass him). Often a good motivation to not slow down as you tire half-way up the hill!
