It's so simple, just be honest and fair with what you are selling.

Wait, I just posted my old MTB frame, maybe I should have said it rolls well or that it's got great peddle action to help the sale :P

I have never had a problem..... :whistling:

You should make use of the classifieds :whistling:

Why? So that people can ridicule me when I claim that a certain item is "as new" or accuse me of being unethical if I want a fair price for something in its original packaging and with a receipt where guarantees are still applicable? Or so that I can get de moerin when people promise payment and then a week later they disappear? Or maybe I want to be named and shamed if I don't send an item same day when the funds are not even in my account yet?

Not an easy place to do business, the good-old hub

Marketing guff regurgitated by hubbers is pretty annoying. My fave would be in respect of wheels where they "climb well". Good grief.

You can't blame the hubbers for coming up with that. It was invented by the industry and perpetuated by the cycling magazines.

*mini rant*

A mate of mine looking to buy a bike just sent me an ad for a bike that he found: http://www.gumtree.co.za/cp-sports-bicycles-fitness-in-randburg/specialized-price-drop-522472695

Then I found this. https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/60788-2008-specialized-hardrock-price-drop/

Surely you'd sell equipment to a cycling community in the know at a better price than to the general public? There's a sense of familiarity here, and I'd definitely take this approach. Was a little surprised to see the difference. Or maybe hubbers in general just negotiate / knock down prices more than on general classifieds?

Agreed that's why I don't sell my stuff, normally end up giving it away or ask someone to sell it for me

I love classifieds. Bought my house and car on gumtree.

Shitty ad, no response, simple as that. (Shitty CV - no job, shitty face - no... nevermind) but we won't get that into some of the advertisers thought process.
