MTB tires for the tar/semi-off road

Hubbers,

I want to get myself another wheel-set for training, and save my current wheel-set for racing. Will be mostly tar and semi-off road (hard-pack), occasional dirt roads . I don't want slick tires, and must be able to run tubeless. Something with a very low profile. Any ideas?

And no.... I'm not joining the DARK SIDE in getting a road bike.

Maxxis Ikons...or crossmarks. They don't get destroyed that easily by tar like schwalbe's

+ 1 on both those options

If you want an 29" Ikon, I am taking a relatively new one off the front of my bike. It is not the right tyre for me, but I think ideal for your uses. You can have it as long as I don't have to do much to get it to you...

Best tyre for that is the Geax Mezcal TNT

Conti RK is also option

Between the Crossmark and Ikon, Crossmark for tar for sure.

Has a thread pattern straight down the middle, perfect for many miles on the tarmac,

The Crossmark's sidewall (UST) is also much thicker and stronger than the Ikon (Tubeless Ready)

Maxxis Crossmarks

True, they are tough buggers and can take on any terrain. To the OP, make sure to get the LUST version as frank the tank pointed out
