WoW! Time must really be tough...Goody bags...understandable...but Safety Pins....DAMN! Who is making all the profits?

Travelled 32k's to cyclelab, no parking....I guess I wont be supporting another race in Gauteng.

I share your sentiment! From Sasolburg to Cyclelab is almost exactly 100km, as well as a toll gate in between. I mailed the organisers to try and arrange for a number pick-up early that morning, but they did net even bother to reply to my e-mail. A quick "Sorry, but that is not possible." would have sufficed, but nada! Earlier this year I took part in the Carnical City race with the same dilemma. I e-mailed them, and almost immediately I was answered. They gave me EXACT details how about where I can collect my number on the morning of the race, as well as a cellphone number to call should I have any other problems. Why cannot ASG Events do the same? Or is it about the money, and not the sport of cycling? I think that I should stick to races at Stonehaven in Vanderbijlpark.

Yes - its all about the money.

That's why the big bad boys are hijacking club races and ripping off cyclists with exorbitant entry fees.

There was a protest at the start of the JSC race today against these extortionists - hopefully it will open up everyones eyes to what is happening to our sport.

I will never support an ASG managed event again.

I do very few races anymore, IMHO they are all slipping, the only race/ride i have done this year and did not think CHEAPSKATES was J2c. I didn't do mankele this year, but still the best value for money, in my opinion because they haven't pulled the "BIG BOYS" in the long run it all becomes about money, profit( I know it's business, but previous years it also was) and they managed to provide good value for money

As I said previously I have done 4 x sani2c I feel even Farmer is slipping, a few years ago no way would they run out of water,,

Your timing chip should be enough for entry ...

i.e. use that to gain entry to the starting grid.

If not registered, you dont get entry.

Yep. Won't be doing this one again. Big shamble and rip off. Can understand why Jacaranda Cycling Club was protesting. Lekka route though

I read the comments on last years race, here http://www.bicycling...ellite-classic/ EVERYBODY moaned, so I did not enter. A friend convinced me last minute to do it, and I must say that compared to the comments from last year, this was a great ride!

Goodie bags are not the point of cycling.

I say, well done to whoever arranged this race, and as always "thanks marshal".

The finish was the stupidest thing I have seen in a while...

That tight left-hander and then a 100m sprint to the finish did make it interesting...but compared to all the cars I had to swerve around last year just before the finish line, I think this was an improvement.

I just want to congratulate the organisers on the amount of toilets they provided...

I mean really, 8 or 9 toilets for +2000 people!!

There was a K@K huis of toilets at the Route66 venue, only 200m from the other toilets.
