Scott Spark 29" Epic Failure

I think I jinxed myself commented in this thread as I now have a cracked chainstay.. right before silly season. Heres to hoping my LBS can find me a temp replacement until the warranty gets honoured.

And I thought it was only the old GT's that used to break.

 

Bit surprised by the Pyga break - that broke at the weld. Ali can be a problem with cracking because of the changes due to heat - it can break next to the weld but the last place it should break is at the weld.

Also break mine ! Completely snapped off. Must say I was pleasantly surprised by the service from Probike. They gave me a loan unit untill the part arrived. Kept me in the loop at all times.

Mine has survived about 4000km of racing and probably the same again training - it get inspected a lot, but so far, so good.

 

The only thing I probably did differently to most owners is strip and pack the suspension bearings right out the box - just because I have often seen new bikes come with oiled suspension bearings - not grease filled, as they should be.

a friend of mine broke 2 Scott chainstays. It took Probike forever to sort her out. she has since moved on to a Giant.

Ek het 'n nuwe (ou model) Scott gekoop en die rear shock het 2 keer in 3 dae gebreek (dit is die shock wat Scott gamaak het) albei het op dieselfde plek gebreek en van daai dag af wil ek nie Scott ry nie. My een vriend se Scott raam het ook op die agterste 3hoek gebreek... Sal later fotos post, ek kan nie van my tablet oplaai nie.
