I'm surprised you haven't done a mail to all your members offering them some "members" specials! Oh well!!

We are thinking about opening the shop up early just for members. Let me come back to you on that.

"improve for next time" huh! How many times do you plan on opening this shop?

Ha! Maybe a few more :) I more meant when we put together sales and specials. We are running a festive promotion from the 12th as well.

This thread has been pretty quiet on their feedback (unusual). I hope that is a good sign!

Cause there isnt anything there I would want to buy (maybe only a tire or two)...some people prefer decent parts over complete bikes.

Add some of the following and you have my attention:

- disk brake set (something decent)

- mtb fork (120-150mm, straight ST....)

- Single speed accessories and bling (like rear hub spacers and cog's)

- chain rings in all the colours and sizes our hearts desire

AND tools! I couldnt even find a pedal spanner the last time I was in your store a few weeks ago.

*just saying*

Personally, I had hoped that the takeover would make cycle lab more like the pro shop. And nowhere more important than the brochure for the sales.

I don't want to see how many percent a range is discounted. Show me products and prices, that'll get me into the store, just like the pro shop does every year.... I always find myself saying "oh wow, that's a good price for that!" and go to the store and buy it... This was kinda useless, and honestly, your sticker prices are very high so the discounts didn't really make me want to drop the cash... So I didn't...

Anyway, I would say, start getting competitive on price, and then advertise... Otherwise you're just the old cycle lab all over and I won't be back.

I raised the same issues when I went and had a look at the soft opening earlier this month and was politely told that parts and tools were still being priced up and would be in the store by that weekend, which was over 2 weeks ago.... so is not going to happen.

Cycle Lab is a department store for cycling, buy bikes, clothes etc. so that you can get fitted and kitted to go cycling. It is not an LBS where you can get the essentials and parts for maintenance and upgrades.

I agree with this

When I see percentage discounts, I lose interest.

It means I have to make my way to the store just to see if the price is good and I usually leave empty handed and disappointed.

Fair feedback, we will incorporate some of these deals in future.

Hi Guys

Thanks very much for the feedback, to be fair all of our single item specials are marked at the Rand price. All of our bikes include a rand saving off recommended retail and then list their new discount price so you can see exactly what the price is.

The percentage discounts apply to whole range of products like 25% off all our apparel and 25% off Rudy eyewear and helmets.

I would be near impossible to list every Rudy product or apparel item with their Rand cost? Obviously this will happen when we launch our online store in Feb.

In terms of components we have an entire gondola with a full range of SRAM and Shimano components. There are also full ranges of Park (and other brands) tools on the floor.

Apart from the few specials in the brochure, the shop is overpriced as usual. They had a nice Trek single speed at the entrance for R38900....

Which products specifically? Happy to match any price as usual.

We have the most extensive range of clothing in SA, I'm sure we will have something for her and all apparel is 25% off.
