Skubarra Posted December 4, 2013 Share New PPA seedings out So who managed to improve their seeding with the windy Burger? (although with a beta of 0.98 apparently PPA didn't consider it a particular hard ride...)
nazmo Posted December 4, 2013 Share Improved by one letter, 0.1 away from an even better one. So fairly pleased.A more realistic beta would have given me that bump, but ill take it One Tonner, despite the time I took, is my best event purely due to beta. jcza Posted December 4, 2013 Share 94.7 has a beta of 1.18, not sure how that works but I'll take it

mikkelz Posted December 4, 2013 Share These PPA seedings are an absolute lottery. How does the Durbanville High School fun ride have a beta of 1.05 and Die Burger 0.98? It was a shorter distance, less elevation and near perfect weather conditions. WKNDWRRR
andydude Posted December 4, 2013 Share New PPA seedings out So who managed to improve their seeding with the windy Burger? (although with a beta of 0.98 apparently PPA didn't consider it a particular hard ride...) Remember that it's all relative / based on the Argus' 1.00 and then Die Burger seems fine at 0.98. Die Burger is now my new top seeding ride whoop whoop How do you know if you improved your seeding or are you only looking at your current printed number compared to the new one on the website? I'm in the same letter, but I guess I can't improve that! Tiny K

Second point, maybe the speed differential was that much faster so to actually make it harder? The beta difference is not that great. But practically I would agree that Die Burger was more difficult than the Durbanville race.

Lucky Luke. Posted December 4, 2013 Share If your seeding is crap, you get to crush everybody in your group, and perhaps work on your TT form when solo-ing across to the next letter. If your seeding is good, you will *** off and be stronger next time. As long as you ride your moer off, it's a win-win situation, whether you are in A or Z. nazmo, Tiny K, ichops and 3 others

A high beta for the Burger would have been nice, but yes in the big scheme of things it doesn't really make a difference And yes, looking at your current printed number is the only way to see if you improved . Well done, I'm still a bit off the point where I cannot improve my seeding anymore!
Agteros Posted December 5, 2013 Share 94.7 has a beta of 1.18, not sure how that works but I'll take itThey didn't use mine... luckily as my index for it is 200....pages look very Racetec-y as per entry for racetec events and results of those events. Question: Is this the seeding that will be used for Racetec events country wide?
Skubarra Posted December 5, 2013 Share Question: Is this the seeding that will be used for Racetec events country wide? Only for the PPA races, for other races the criteria might be a bit different but it should give you a good idea of what to expect.

After a shaky start (and broken bike), I am back into the group in which I was seeded at the beginning of the season. YAY!
