After doing the Isuzu Ride the Rock in the Cederberg a few weeks back. I am now not scared of this race anymore. I struggled last year, but had a good race, with only 2-3 weeks training. This year I am gonna blow this course, compared to day 1 in the cederberg, this is now alot easier...

80km as per website entry page

I think my MTB skills and ability will be about average. I completed the Transbaviaans in 13:19 with a 26'er  , so I will survive - I think. Would just like to get an idea of whats coming.

Just a word of warning, TB is the direct opposite of Monster in terms of difficult terrain.

Did the 40km in 2011 and swore I would never go there again.

Started taking my HTFU pills on 3 January 2014.

Entered the 75km last week.

Advice welcome (needed!).

The marathon is a test: its about sandy roads, loose rocky ascent and descent in Mountain Sanctuary Park, then a fairly long but very ridable climb up to the ridge, fast descent on a eroded sandy road, then the rest is just a long undulating haul, a loop back traversing a few more ridges with a bit of a technical descent towards the end.

Awesome route, well organised, one of the best mtb events in all aspects on the local calender,.

Looking forward to it, hopefully will be making a camping weekend of it at MSP.
