Inspiring, I think I want to start one. I don't have a big garden, so this will do nicely.

My brother also mentioned something about male/female and self-pollinating, but I didn't understand enough to follow what he was saying. I think it means that some fruit multiply by masturbation while others are more traditional...

See it is confusing ..I knew there was trick to it..

Oh man.. I'll have to go read up some more

I'm thinking Lemon(or lime), Naartjie and pomelo would make for a nice fruit salad tree....

I'll wait for @readsalot to come and give more advice once he has broke his brother's cryptic info????[emoji6][emoji848]

Aphids chowing my cabbages.

Have tried all the "Bunny hugging" was to get rid of them to no avail.

Hmm, I sowed a bunch of chili seeds in here yesterday but no seedlings have come up yet. Do you think anything is wrong? How long do I still have to wait? Will I see some seedlings by tomorrow?

Most chilly plants need bottom heat to germinate

Most chilly plants need bottom heat to germinate

Most chilli plants germinate heat in my bottom.  :whistling:

More serious: I put that by the window, so it should get a good few hours of sunlight every day. Think that's okay? I've never tried growing anything from a seed before (well, I vaguely remember something about a bean and some wet cotton in primary school).

very hit and miss, some plants will grow like "normal" seeds.

others will not germinate

I've had great success with chilli's from seed.

Dump the seeds in cup of water overnight. Discard any that are still floating the next day. Plant them very shallow in potting soil. Cover the pot with clingwrap and keep it well hydrated and in a sunny spot. When the plants are 10cm tall, move to the garden and away you go!

not working  :-(

You need to mix a small percentage Oleum with Efecto Aphicide Plus.

The Oleum with starve the existing aphids of oxygen and the newcomers will be blitzed by the Aphicide through ingestion. (spray around the base of the plant too)

You will also have to control your ant population for obvious reasons.

Liberal application on first spray! Follow up every 6 weeks
