...so I was racing a dirt cheap department store bike down a back street in Quinta do Lago wearing a backpack stuffed with a bottle of Remy Martin Louix XIII, a tin of saffron, a side of Kobe beef and about half a kilo of a-grade Columbian cocaine, when I hit a speed wobble on the cobblestoned pavement and crashed into some playboy's parked Zonda before tumbling into a river losing my back pack.

Oddly enough the playboy didn't seem as upset about the cracked bonnet or the broken windshield of his car but he kept whining about the balloon animal that lay ruined on the passenger seat. Who the heck is Jeff Koons?

Falling in love with MTB!!!

bikes and gear sold and bought around 20k so far.

I had a few falls got a couple of bruises, no damage to bikes!!

Had a fall about 3 weeks ago and tore my ACL. I received the cost for reconstructive surgery to my knee. The op and physio is gonna exceed 30k, thank goodness for medical aid. ad absolutely no damage to bike again!

Bikers Idiots shouldn't be racing on public roads.

I understand the appeal of superbikes, but I agree, they should go ride on the track. Public roads are unfortunately filled with bad drivers, incompetent pedestrians etc, and racing a machine like that not only endangers their own lives but everyone elses.

My flatmate had a fall last year. No damage to bike, but almost 5 weeks in hospital of which 3 was in ICU. Spleenectomy and a pancreatectomy later, and his hospital bill came to about R950,000. Still way cheaper than his life. Thank goodness for medical aid!

MotoCross accident December 2012... Shattered and dislocated foot 1 week in hospital, then re admited 2 days before christmas for a nother week due to infection. 2 suregeries, 3 months of physio 2 months late for start of new job... flights back and forth to Cape Town to see the surgeon... I still walk like quasimodo and starting to pick up knee problems from the constant limping.

Over all hospital bills in excess of R150k all covered... but no price on everything that has come with it and will seemingly still come in the future.
