I had to go to Krugersdorp this morning and took the Maropeng road, I noticed a lot of road cyclists with those tri bars (straight bars up front) that could not for love nor money hold a straight course!

Is this common? I would have thought on a road bike you would want to be in control all the time?

Just remember is training time for the ironman. You could see a lot of the same cyclists going for a run in the cradle about late morning. They won't be around for long after race day

After my 4hour MTB training ride this morning a TT guy passed me. I chased him don't and got a nice slip 40-45km/h on my dualie but he didn't say anything not even when I turned off. No words were spoken. Not nice! !!!!

Ok , that explains it, not really seen any knocking around until today.

The most important question, is, did they greet you?

No but I suppose if you are wobbling around with two hands on the bars then its to be expected....!

Here in the Cape they are doing away with tri bars in fact they are doing away with the handlebars too and the entire front wheel and running 40 inch rear wheels

36inch wheels... I built/rebuilt a few of those for the guys around christmas for their Argus mission. 1 x 48 hole 4 cross and 1 x 36 hole 3 cross. We built up a 36inch silly 2 wheeled bike on Friday as well....... It is ridiculous!

But OP, we all know tri-athletes have zero bike handling skills! They are forced to ride 7 metres apart because of it.....
