I told you before, you are welcome to comment on any of my posts with anything after you have joined me on a ride....till then, please stay away.

I invited her for a ride but she never pitched and never let me know, I was personally insulted.

Cool. No worries. I chicken out of rock gardens sometimes too.

EDIT: really wasn't trying to make fun, hope you didn't take it the wrong way

Oh no, nothing wrong with what you said.

I didnt chicken out of the rock garden, I am quite capable now to ride knarly rock gardens. I took the chicken run around the 6m gap jump. I aim to do that towards the end of this year though, because I am quite new to the DH thing, I am only trying the 2-3m ones now. One has to start somewhere and I am seeing improvements happening faster than I ever thought. This is a fun sport!

Okay, enough now about that, I will post the sealant comparison later today. There is definatly some relation with tyre and sealant.

I've seen you ride, you've got guts. Between you and them only one person has a continental title so…

More data for you:

Kenda Nevagal - no real problems. It was non UST and had a lot of sealant that had solidified in the tyre but it was spread around evenly and had mostly sealed against the tyre wall so it was doing its job. It was also extremely old.

Maxxis High Roller (harder compounds) LUST - No problems thus far.

I have always used Joe's sealant and never had any of it turn into balls in the tyre. Also it has always worked perfectly for punctures.

also use Joe's with no problems. Running Maxxis Crossmark and Spec Purgatory

my brief report on slimepro.

it works

i have left it in standing in tyres for a long time +6 months(don't ask) and it stayed liquid.

it's very lumo green, might even glow in the dark

comes with some nifty pipe adaptors if you want to fill up through the valve.

At the beginning of January 2014 I replaced the sealant in all our MTB tyres.

During the Dullstroom race my wife complained that her front tyre was fishtailing on the descents.

We stopped and I spun the tyre but it was running true so we carried on.

The next day I opened up the tyre to find this lump of sealant. The bike gets ridden often so it should not have solidified.

Anyone else have a similiar problem?

This is normally caused by Co2 bombs. It reacts with the stans sealant.

As per TW on it's own no ....... might work for punctures once a wheel is up and sealed but for initial sealing I had no success

Yup. And for what's it's worth, I used it with a MK, a Larsen and most recently a Rocket Ron. Only even inflated with a compressor. Have had some solid residue on the inner tyre wall, but never a ball.

I cannot remember where I read it, but the ambient temp and amount of moisture in the air also (could?) play a role. Dry and cool better. I have had huge boogers with Stans / Schwalbe MTB tyres but none in Stans / Schwalbe Road Tubeless. The road tubeless is much thicker and seals incredibly tight on the rim (runs at 8bar) - similar to UST tyres. Maybe that plays a role too.

I pretty much only use Oko and to date it has served me really well. I started using it a couple years back when Rad006 was pedalling the stuff in 1litre milk containers from his house. Generally put about 100ml per tyre and that lasts pretty much until I have to remove the tyre (it does not form the ball ever in my experiance). I tend to run tubeless ready or UST tires and have run it on both UST rims (Mavic 819's) and ghetto gorilla/insulation take conversions & I've never had a major isssue seating them. The only tyre I've had a real issue with was a Nokian All Mountain tyre that just wept sealant through the side wall, forming little blisters that would pop then weep. I think that was a tyre issue rather than a sealant issue. That said I've had a bad run with tyres (snake bites, tears & side wall cuts). Run tubeless with Oko for both DH & regular everyday riding & definitely has impressed me on occasion sealing fairly sizeable cuts to at least allow me to complete a run not completely on my rim.

I tried the homemade sealant once. Liquid latex (which was a bit of a mission to find), ammonia, glitter and some fiberss mixed together... Found the latex ball rattlingg around the tyre a month or 2 after installing and never bothered with it again.

I tried Fuggit in my dirt bikes wheels and was dissappointed, seemed to just weep out old holes constantly, never tried it on one of the bicycles. Use Oko in there now too, with no issues.
