Hearing a lot about this 'new ' route, does anyone have a comparison in the elevation? Don't shoot me if it's somewhere in these 23 pages but I haven't seen one? I definitely can't complain about my seeding, I didn't ride at all last year and I'm in H.

Only rules: You must start before the last group starts, and remove your timing chip.

Simply remove chip from wheel and place in jersey?

OR

Should I remove chip and leave with a mate at the finish of lap uno?

There is more climbing than last year, N14 crosses the Jukskei once, which we will do on the last section going through Steyn City. The surprise is Cedar which crosses a stream running into the Jukskei. The extra climbing will probably just be about 200m, it will make a difference to a lot of riders (including myself).

I'm in P for an early-ish start (7:20), but promised to ride with a (slow) friend doing his first 94.7 (I can kick myself for making that promise). Still waiting to hear what time he starts.

You're still probably better off than me. I thought riding for a purpose you got a better seeding, and I am stuck with a 09:01 start...I may have to be proudly South African and go protest this somewhere... ;)

Ha ha still seems like you're pretty lucky, both my brother and brother in law did it last year in just less than 4 hours and their seeding times are both well after 10am.

I've got a 7:00am start so I'm thinking of maybe attempting a second lap with them, might not be the best decision I've ever made[emoji15]

Don't worry too much about removing the chip just make sure that you do not cross the timing mats again once you have finished your first lap.

Aren't there a few out on course other than start / finish?  Could be tricky to do that.

Who knows what the logistics are regarding getting to the venue... Cedar Avenue is a pain at the best of times...

One of the factors keeping me away, although I am sure I wont be missed.
