Aren't there a few out on course other than start / finish?  Could be tricky to do that.

I don't know to be honest. I don't recall any others out on the route... but you are probably right, it may be safest to just remove the chip and leave it in the car when you go back to slap on more sunblock and eat a sandwich in between laps.

problem - I am planning to cycle to the start so no car.  Also not guaranteed to find a mate in time to handover to so was thinking pocket with some tinfoil wrap...  think I heard that from someone before....?

Simply remove chip from wheel and place in jersey?

OR

Should I remove chip and leave with a mate at the finish of lap uno?

They would probably pick up the chip at the start even if in your pocket, Im doing second lap with wifey so going to drop chip in the car to be safe.

For the first time I will be driving to the start. The start it is now 20 km from my home and not the easy 10km I previously had.

What time you gunning for? (see what I did there? ^_^) I'm hoping to strap a few of the chaps at the front together and work together for a good time. Worked well at Emperor's this year.

No idea what to expect as I haven't done 947 last 2 years and no consistent training last few months.

But I will see you at the front. All "guns" blazing until I pop.

My advice to anyone who wants to break sub three and have just been on the cusp of it, train harder and do more climbing.

This route is going to catch many people like a thieve in the night.

Im in D as well.

Cant think the new route will make a big difference if at all.

I tend to agree. Only thing I can think is if that 400m elevation comes at the depth when we have 94kms of racing in our legs. But time wise should be the same.

See in you D.

"Together arches I'll meet you in the front" (Said in my best Braveheart/Scottish accent)

Those last few steep climbs just before the finish when you are on the edge of cramping will be great spectator value.

Or alternatively just stop working at the front and do more wheel sucking  :whistling:

Put it in your pocket. The mats won't pick it up from there.
