Strate looking for Maritz's next bike .... nothing decent in 26'

Instead a few brands are now going for extra small frames with 27,5 tires ....

Nasty little gap between a 24'' and the next decent bikes ....

We do have a 2nd hand 26'' that he can use .... but the stand-over height of the frame means he is going to be BIG for the 24'' before he can ride this 26'' ...

get him a jump bike. They're still almost exclusively 26" and have very low stand-over heights.

Or, if you're fine with going 2nd hand, there are a fair few options out there at some really decent prices.

probably out of budget(?) but 100% decent fo sure. There are still boutique brands that make proper 26" frames.

AAAANNNDDDD i'll just shamelessly use this as ANOTHER opportunity to post mine since I also still ride 26" and love it to bits  :whistling: . need new pics I know. to busy enjoying it on the trails to stop and take pics.

It even takes an internal dropper (which it now has).

a small or medium for a kid would be the best toy ever in my opinion. Although a hard hitting trail orientated hardtail, it cruises fine over 100km even with 160mm in the front.

This is a large but i'm quite tall so this is my toy.

here's a smaller one in DJ guise...

every now and then a small or medium makes a brief appearance in the classifieds...but they are rare and dont change hands alot.

We are still rocking a stable full of 26" bikes.

I am hanging on to my wife's 26" GT Avalanche XS so that she can ride it (obviously) but also so that my youngest has a bike when he outgrows the 20" (Might skip over the 24")

I am still riding my Teocali and enjoying every ride.

The 2nd hand bike in the garage is a Mongoose - GOOD spec for a kids bike !!  Think we have a small frame .... visually the same stand-over height as the Scott Scale above.  Been eyeing that Scott for a while now ...  :whistling:

O yes, reminds me that my son wants to sell his old school med 3x9 marin nailtrail. The frame has been recoated a fews back. New rims and tyres. Drive train could probably  do with an upgraded, but the bike has hardly been used. Not advertised as thats his business, but pm me
