I know times are tough. Going to the store means buying milk, bread, perhaps a packet of smokes, and perhaps a few Chappies. Now and then, a magazine cover grabs my eye but in all honesty, it's a luxury item. Some of them cost almost R50 (like NAG). Which leads me to ask:

In this digital age, when was the last time any of you have bought a magazine off the shelf?

Used to buy many now zero, Flipboard is the answer, only really a few niche overseas mags that are really worth getting, the real thing is better but at R145 a go that's out the window.

Last time I had magazines I picked up about 200+ from a hubber in Joburg who was getting rid of them....!

These days I just download to the tablet or visit different forums.

they announced a few days ago that the SA version of PC Format is closing down. Not that I buy them anymore but it was very much a part of my early geek days where you'd get a bunch of demo software on the CDs and i saved up my student money and bought the mag each time.

In terms of reading mags now I prefer digital format, it's just so much easier. And the added interactivity is amazing, such as National Geographic.

I also still like having the real thing, but only the mags worth buying. MBUK and Tread thats pretty much it. I suppose if I had a tablet, then I would probably buy less magazines.

I just do not really care much about electronics, I like mechanical stuff and invest mostly in them.

As much as I do most of my reading in digital format, I have to agree that there is indeed nothing like flicking through the physical pages of a magazine.

Bought a Ride mag a few days ago(R34 I think) but have to admit nothing that really grabbed my attention in there. Still love lying in bed paging through a magazine and dreaming about my next bike

Not at all. I just haven't bought a magazine for months. Read a report the other day on how print is making a comeback but can't seem to fathom that.
