Exactly the point the guys were making, you are suffering because someone else broke the rules. You do not deserve to have nightmares.

I bet from what you have experienced you will think twice before jumping a red light?

After that incident - NEVER again!

In fact, I was so screwed up after that, I stayed off the bike for almost 2 years.

"Running Red's" sal aanhou gebeur tot iemand n square bicycle wiel maak wat rybaar is. Hulle sal eers stop as hulle bike and all (clipped in) oor n kar se dak gaan soos in my geval. Nou is ek maar n poephol en stop by elke liewe rooi robot.

The carnage on our roads is not as a result of cyclists skipping red lights.

Percentage of road deaths caused by cyclists = 0%

Percentage of road deaths caused by motorists, truckers and motor cyclists = 100%

Again, that's not the point, is it?

I rode with those peaceforce okes a while back. One guy had the sickest Pinarello with Campag EPS. When we stopped for a coke, he let me touch it.

Did you check the barcode?

I suppose you can verify these stats.

I guess the point remains the same - dangerous cycling causes annoyance and dangerous driving is normal.

This was before the scandal.

Guy I rode with yesterday confirmed that he did check his though. Although, he has Di2 on his, so fake, real, wouldn't really matter, it's value is already shot.

Regardless of what everyone thinks is right or wrong of skipping a red light, one thing is for sure the brands displayed on your kit as you fly through a red robot with your pluck yew finger in the air, is getting some rave reviews from grumpy motorists.

I say great marketing, or maybe not.........

Yes, agreed.

So some chop jumps a red light and makes a car swerve and pisses the driver off. 2km down the road, a cyclist who obeys the rules crosses paths with irritated driver and doesn't get the treatment or the space he deserves. So again, people who obey the rules get the @ss end of the deal.
