looking at his avatar, is he a shilton or a maradonna?

and if you look at mine, you see a guy with a 2007 Argus MTB T shirt that's full of holes, but I love the damn thing(done on a Giant Boulder) and his dog...

In the 90's we used MTB in the Tokai Mountains on 26' steel frame Avalanche Reflexes with no front shocks. Lot's of fun.

Yes, I remember my first mtb in the mid 90's was also an Avalanche Reflex. And I thought that was a great bike! Had many exciting trips on that bike :-)

in the spirit of p.o.s bikes that have no place in serious races, I bring you a steed that finished last year's freedom challenge.

I have actually thought about this, Fly down for the race, go to pnp/makro the day before and buy a special, set it up( pump the tyres), enjoy the ride and scenery for a change! Stop for a few beers along the way. Finish in 5-7 hours(Time relative to amount of beers consumed), Give the bike away at the finish line. This could be quiet a lekker charity drive if one could get a group of similarly minded idiots together.

nice! I'll arrange a good deal on the bikes from either Game or Makro. Hey, maybe they'll even sponsor something??

I finally figured it out...

This is the perfect bike for the guys training with a weaker partner.

I prefer doing that on my Scott 29'er - Big ring at the front and small gear at the back all the way

Yea, because you will be running alongside said partner pushing this thing after about 2 kays

I had a Peugeot Mirage racing bike in school, as far as I remember back then it was a reasonably decent brand, cost R120.00 and that was in the late 70's. I was the only guy at school with quick release wheels and had to check they hadn't been loosened every day after school. I think it was a 5 speed casette back then. Bear in mind my old man got his first company car in 1976 and that cost R2800.00 brand new!!

need help, looking for the make of a bike, mid to late nineties, I had the Haro model, cant recall then make of bike?

Haro would have been the make...

Had one when I was in high school 6 years ago...

Miss that bmx... Was my ticket to freedom when I had no licence... If only in had realised sooner it wasn't just my movement that was unrestricted while on a bicycle...
