Hi guys and gals.  Sjeez, I feel like I was hit by a car WinkWinkWinkWink!!

Thank you for all the well wishes.  I don't think you know how it lifts the spirits after something like this.

The story: Was commuting home.  All went well (I was even complimented on my road manners by a motorist).  Then, at the Engen garage on Club rd this lady "doesn't see me".  Was doing about 30-35km/h at that stage, braked as hard as I could but still hit the car.  Car damages are quite extensive (as the ER nurse said, "you're NOT small!"), but to me it's a SAD day (Delgado, mate, nearly lost it in the X-Ray room!).  I have been waiting for 6 years for a Titanio to pop up, and then R2D2 decides to entrust his baby to me.  Now, well, I'll have to look, but that bike is irreplaceable!

Now for the thank you's.  Number 1, the sister, THANK YOU, you know why.  Number 2 Delgado and Mrs. Delgado.  Dude, thanks (even when hurting yourself) for fetching my bike and then coming to sit with the sister.  I think the sister and I were much more relaxed after having a chance to chat!

Then the paramedics and emergency doc (don't know the company name, but they are from the Jewish helping hand).  THANK YOU.  I'm going to organize a Hub ride to help these people.  The help people in need (as they did for me) at NO CHARGE!!!  The dude at the Engen garage on Club Str.  You have my car's tank for the rest of my life.  Thank you for helping.  The staff at Linksfield that helped, THANKS.  To CAP Security for being there first and helping, thank you.

And then, today opened my eyes and made me realize that this country and its' people have a HUGE and BEAUTIFUL future.  No one said "no he's white" or "no, he's an elitest *%&$head cyclist".  Everyone tried to help.  Guys from the street stormed closer to get me to stay still.  A lady (I don't know her name now, but I will by tom morning at 8!!) phoned the sister.  And no one was nasty or anything.  They were just helping!!!!

OK, so my rant is over.  Once again thank you for the well wishes!  I'm going to sit and cry (the adrenaline is gone now!) about my bike a bit (or is it from the ouch) and then go to bed.

Etienne ek en jy het nog gister ge rant en rave oor die Argus nou gaan ek rant en rave oor motoriste ek het laas jaar ook so ondervinding gehad met 'n motoris maar die bliksem het my fisies van die pad afgedruk.  My fiets ook ge panelbeat.

Ek weet hoe ek sou voel as iemand my Fondriest buig of is dit breek.AngryAngryAngryAngryAngry

Ewep, You only got one thing wrong my friend. The bike is replaceable, you, on the other hand, are not!! Glad to hear that you are OK(ish) and although I understand your pain about the Titanio, that the Sister and your Daughter still have a husband and a father is the most important thing.

R2D2.

PS: I have a spare bike for you to use whenever you are ready to ride again.
