Feeling ripped off by Cycle lab fourways

No Racing Snake

Recommended Posts

I had a complaint with CL Fourways this week. I emailed the complaint through to them on Wednesday morning. By Wednesday lunch time, Andrew had called me personally to discuss the issue, and as of this morning, they replaced the item I had bought with a brand new item.

Everybody makes mistakes, but the way they responded, was fantastic.

I must say I wasn't impressed by the CL megastore the only time I went in there.

I wanted:

Shimano Hydraulic Oil.

Shimano Adaptor (Spacer) for 180mm front rotor direct mount.

Shimano Bleeding Kit.

I searched the place. Nothing. I stood with my best "I'm helpless look" on. Waited a few minutes to be helped.

Salesman didn't know what any of the items were so he fetched a guy from the workshop. Workshop guy brought me several post mount to direct mount adaptors and asked which one was right. Well none of them.

0 for 3. A bit disappointing really. When I asked why they didn't stock these items the answer was "all our customers bring their bikes in for servicing".

Granted these are not everyday items but c'mon - you're a "MEGASTORE".

Cajees round the corner knew exactly what I wanted and handed me all 3 items in under 5 mins.

Go hang around the expensive bikes with a golf top

You can't complain about crappy service unless you've belong to your little club for as long as you decide? That's BS too.

Oh but coming here with one hit wonder posts isn't. There are always two sides to a story and the "one hit wonders" as we call are normally never seen or heard from again when the other party responds

Its draining I tell you

i wonder if the OP will return and make a valuable contribution to the forum sometime in the future or will the racing snake be a one post wonder.

I seriously think admin must implement a minimum post count to allow people to post in rant 'n rave

I wonder if Admin could establish how many one-poster members exist, and of those how many are rant related.

See Skipperw's post above. It takes as much time to enage the offending party in an email, as it does to gripe about it here, and the results are tangible. It's best to exhaust all other avenues before hitting the rant button.

Sidebar comment - Sales people will sell the customer what he/she is asking for. I was in Linden cycles (and I serious rate these guys) and this one lady who knew nothing about cycling was telling the sales man what bike her son must get. The salesguy tried this way and that way to ascertain needs/goals/etc but the tannie had her mind made up. Kid got a bike - no idea if he is going to enjoy it or not..but mom was very proud that all her totally invalid and ignorant requirements were met. Sales guy had a sale. win win?

Noobs are ignorant. They should do their homework upfront and not complain afterwards about what they were sold. You do your homework when buying a car or a house yes? Why not a bike or a tyre?

I agree - also getting tired of people allowing themselves to buy something and then afterwards not happy about their purchase. Poor service and faulty goods aside.

Maybe there should be a sister website for TheHub... www.theRantsa

Ill go there Friday afternoons for a laugh
