That's a tough one - many different variables. Even though they will run on 87 Octane and used fish oil (Zambia and Malawi!) it pays though to use decent stuff here - I only use OEM Air filters and proper 2-stroke - either Motul or Yamalube. So under Ideal conditions, a set of rings every 15000km I'm guessing.  Maybe a piston at 30000Km.  Cranks should last for ages -  that Engine is so under-stressed they will run for ever - I've seen a DT on 80000km still on the original crank - it was a 125 though.  My 200 is on 48000km and it's still running the original crank.  But it's also had a really easy life and sadly barely makes it out of the garage :-(

Will you accept an offer? :)

That was the argument we had when we brought in the R150's - the old 2-stroke 125's were pushing 28kw while the R15 was closer to 18kw. But because they were 150cc and not 125cc 16yo's were not allowed to ride them.

Crazy

So my son came across this one, a friend's that he wants to sell, and we bought it tonight thanks for oupa who has cash in hand. Wanted R17000 but offered and paid R15000. 2011 model 6134kms on the clock. Bought from second owner, had 3 services and still got tool kit and new rear tyre. Will collect during the week or over the weekend.2e4047538b0bb46f633a9d133deb6dfa.jpgbe08029bf6d08de1495c28b99be1b720.jpg7921e22ac5a3be17f7eda64b06ae0ff4.jpg9ca42e8bf244f0765a8ade879a9206fd.jpg2129448f06dc7fe124cef7758ba78ae0.jpg

These are cool little bikes. My son also learnt on one. Good to learn basic bike maintenance too. I used it often to nip to the shops instead of the sports bike.

I'm sure for as long as he hasn't got his learner license, I'll be using it a lot ????

Lovely bike - do yourself a favor and take a video of him riding it - so in 2048 when he's talking *** on the Future Virtual Cyber bikehub he can post it and all his mates will go oooooh ;-)

I have been sort of wondering if it isn't worth letting someone else appreciate it - the joy for me is the building not the riding.

Problem is - I would at least want to try and get what I spent on the parts back.  And that's probably close to (in my best Dr. Evil voice) "One Million Dollars!"

Nice bike BSG!! safe journeys for your son!! Get a quote for a fork service to show him the real cost of wheelies!!

Hopefully he will not be going that way.????

Anybody here own a modern bike that has the electronics that assists with eliminating wheelies? Curious about how it helps in everyday riding or is it mostly marketing hype?

My bike has traction control that eliminates wheelies completely. However it can be a pain in the ass when accelerating hard it will cut power as soon as the front lifts.

I have not ridden ( or even started ) my BMW F800 ST for 2-3 years. Battery was removed and is on permanent trickle charge. What will the starting procedures be after checking the fluids ?
