Delta Park burns its bridges

Does anyone know if this was accidental or a 'controlled' burn gone wrong?

Report it to the zoo people and hopefully jhb parks and recreation will fix it.

Rather than doing work on it to have one of their teams rip it off to do it again

They've not done to any of the bridges that have been repaired before. JCP are pretty amenable.

Can get some wooden pallets that can be repurposed.

Cool I think I may be able to get hold of some gum poles. I'll get hold of the Spruit Fairy and some of the Swampdogs and see if we can organize a build. Can I PM you if we need to take you up on the offer?

I'll do that first and see if they respond, cheers!

They burn the grass every year. No point in complaining, they will never repair it. Yea I reckon those gum poles need replacing also.

Let us know when you fix it up, I come supervise

Perfect, also know him and the hounds. So we can make it a chop chop job, wood pallet planks are great for this and the struts are useful for reinforcing sections, slap a coat of creosol and bada boom bada bing.

Gooi the PM

Thank you spruit fairies... we are eternally grateful for all your efforts.

Happy to supply some beers if that makes the job go easier.

A fairy whispered into my ear that there will be a new wooden bridge going up in Montgomery Park in the very near future.

It will cross the Spruit at the corner of 5th Avenue & John Adamson. A new trail will be cut through Montgomery Park to link up to the bridge.
