Didn't go on a diet just made better dietry choices!

Drinking is also almost non existent.

More I lose the faster I go and that keeps driving me!

100% agreed!

I find that these days I'm probably "that guy" who keeps going on about it to my non-cycling mates but that feeling of being out there early on the trails is just too good not to share. I t makes me feel like a kid again. I've managed to lasso one of 'em into the mix so far. My mission continues...

Haha, I know the feeling....everytime we braai it turns into a cycling "meeting"....the ladies have now given up and have started talking about cycling too, going as far as watch the criterium du dauphine with all the guys.

I see my friends roll their eyes when I go on about cycling ;)

You do a lot of kms. I need to force myself to get to work earlier so I fit in weekday rides, even shorter ones.

But good motivation from everyone's stories

Was 108kg and now I weigh 73kg.

That's in about two years of cycling. Completed the Joberg2c this year along with the sani2c and ride all the big marathon races. Would never have been able to even dream of doing that two years ago!

wow!

Awesome stories! I buggered around on my bike for 3-4 years not loosing any weight and doing 3:45 Argus's sitting at around 100kg. My Max was about 105kg.

Joined a DC team, got married in that year and went down to 85kg, the year after that down to 80kg and a 6:30 DC.

In the past 6 months got down to 74.5kg, 6 hour DC and 2:52 Argus and have never been so stoked. Up to about 78kg now, but with the early starts need some insulation.

I find training with mates is the best motivation.

Hammer!

Sheesh, well done guys. I will post back here in a few months time with my number (it is not too impressive yet)

Who is brave enough for a little before/ after gallery to motivate the rest of us to get ourselves into gear?

Jimmy cool that's a good idea. I found a photo the other day of a shirt that fitted me pretty good now it's WAY to big for me. Pretty much like all my clothing now. Still have a goal of another 10kgs to go.
