Why is it that the National Anthem was played for the first time only this year? I loved it and I hope they do it again.

Icycling Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 So after looking at my VIP results I discover this year had more finishers than any other year the closest was in 2004 at 31219! Maybe a shorter route is best for mass participation - is that not the event is a mass participation funride!!!! Even more finishers than when those who could were allowed to do it twice! Apparently the shorter event does not suit me one of my worst positions!!!

Also, that the City of Cape Town is planning to demolish it. (Read it as hearsay, perhaps someone closer to the City can confirm?) I don't know when it will be demolished or how the site will be re-developed. I also don't know where the Expo will be moved to, but the most logical venue must surely be the International Convention Centre. Why am didn't the just keep us I the flyover and let us ride I front of the harbour and come down I front of the waterfront entrance and then left towards the stadium?

Brent Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 See a lot of people didn't make the 3 hour cut-off yet their results appear on Racetec.....did the organizers extend the cut-off to cater for the congestion at the finish or will the info still be adjusted to reflect only those that finished within the 3 hour time limit ?
